Magic / Logic / Music will provide students with the chance for
active listing to music and other forms of organized sound.

Discussion and musical practice will both be key elements.
We will share and discuss our own works, as well examine Cage, Xenakis, Stockhausen, Nancarrow, Behrman, Paik, Redolfi, et al.

Keys to the seminar include:
Performance
Study of alternate interfaces for music performance
such as:
iCube
Buchla Thunder
Theremin
production:
live performance production
radio production
CD production
network art production
sound sculpture
sound installation

The emphasis will be on self-sufficency and techniques for active artistic expression that does not rely heavily on expensive or esoteric equipment

This seminar will be conducted entirely in English and English proficiency is required.
